Vietnam Airline
These airlines are serving both domestic and international flights within Viet Nam and Asia territory.
Vietnam Airlines is the national airline having service the most prestige and the best quality with a modern fleet of Airbus and Boeing planes flown by well-trained professionals. This is also the airline whose international flights are the most abundant, with a number of direct flights to European countries and other continents.
According to regulations of the airlines, passengers from 14 years of age on the date of travel must have Identity Card to check-in. Children under 14 years of age on the date of travel must have the Birth Certificate. In the case of 1-month-old infant travelling, it is mandatory to carry Birth Certifying Form along with the ticket.
Cheap ticket is the lowest fare or promotional ticket of the airlines. Its difference is more limited in the attached conditions such as: not allowed to refund, to rename, to change the date of travel, to select seat; or tickets ordered must to be paid immediately and not have time placeholder; ...
Airfares can change minute by minute based on demand and availability. Between the time of your flight search and actual booking, seat inventory in a particular booking class (fare) may sell out. Airlines then offer their available inventory at a higher price. We monitor these changes closely and make every effort to keep inventory and fares in our displays as current as possible.
For the domestic flights, hand baggage must not be larger than 56cm × 36cm × 23cm and the maximum weight is 7kg.
Baggage allowance:
- On Vietnam Airlines, passengers are offered 20kg baggage allowance.
- Jetstar, Vietjet: Passengers have to buy baggage allowance as the following fee:
15kg: 143.000 VND
20kg: 165.000 VND
25kg: 220.000 VND
30kg: 330.000 VND(Vietjet); 270.000 VND (Jetstar)
35 kg: 385.000 VND(Vietjet); 320.000 VND (Jetstar)
40kg: 440.000 VND(Vietjet); 370.000 VND (Jetstar)
Wheelchair service is a service offered to disabled or medical passengers with reduced mobility, including:
Passengers requiring wheelchair for ramp (WCHR) are passengers who can ascend/ descend steps and make own way to/from cabin seat, but requiring assistance for distance to/from aircraft across ramp.
Passengers requiring wheelchair for step (WCHS) are passengers who can not ascend/ descend steps, but are able to make own way to/from cabin seat, requiring assistance for distance to/from aircraft across ramp and up/down steps.
Passengers requiring wheelchair for cabin (WCHC) are passengers who completely immobile, requiring assistance to/from aircraft, up/down steps and to/from cabin seat.
Conditions of acceptance:Passengers requiring wheelchair for ramp (WCHR): Requests must be made before departure time and the quantity is unlimited.
Passengers requiring wheelchair for step (WCHS): Requests must be made at least 24 hours before departure time. Accompanied passengers are unlimited. Unaccompanied passengers are limited and depend on the type of aircraft. In case of specialized facilities (highlift car, wheelchair …) are not available at some airports, passengers have to fill out the Consent and release of passenger requiring wheelchair services.
Passengers requiring wheelchair for cabin (WCHC): Requests must be made at least 24 hours before departure time. The maximum number of unaccompanied or accompanied passengers requiring wheelchair on each flight is limited depending on the type of aircraft.
Attendant service must be made in advance, be confirmed and prepaid. This fare is equal to fare of the same class of service of passenger.
Vietnam Airlines provide stretcher service for passenger requiring medical clearance.
Conditions of acceptance:Requests must be made in advance at least 72 hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight.
Passengers traveling in a stretcher have to bring Medical Clearance Form (MEDIF) with them for the flight: MEDIF - part I to be completed by passengers and MEDIF - part II to be completed by the physician of VNA's accepted Medical Center .
Passengers traveling in a stretcher must have someone accompanied, preferably a doctor or nurse.
Passengers requiring stretcher service are accepted only for economy class.
Stretcher service is provided depending on the itinerary and the type of aircraft.
Note: Currently, there is only Vietnam Airlines providing this service, so it's necessary to book the ticket of Vietnam Airlines in case you need to be supported.
- Domestic flight:
Vietnam Airlines: Children from 2 to under 12 years old must pay 75% adult fare. Fare for an infant under 2 years old is equal to 10% adult fare.
Jetstar Pacific, Vietjet Air: Fare of children from 2 to under 12 years old is equal to adult fare. Infant under 2 years old doesn't need to buy ticket.

Elderly fares:All airlines have regulations that the elderly pays the fare as adult passengers. But occasionally, there will be promotion for the elderly.
Fares for passengers with disabilities:The airlines will comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, & Social Welfare, passengers with disabilities will be reduced by 20% compared with the normal fare when purchasing airline tickets.
Passengers who are pregnant must notify us of their pregnancy when they purchase tickets and at check-in counters. The carriage of pregnant women depends on the following conditions:
Women under 27th week of their pregnancies must sign the Consent Forms at check-in counter to exclude any liability on side of Vietjet Air for any arising circumstances.
Women between the 28th and 32nd week of their pregnancies must:
- Present the confirmations from doctors which state the duration of their pregnancies and their health eligible to fly. The confirmation must be issued within seven (7) days of the scheduled departures of the outward or inward leg of flight, depending on the actual circumstances; and
- Sign Consent Forms at check-in counter to disclaim any liability on side of Vietjet Air for any arising circumstances.
Women who are pregnant for more than 32 weeks are not to be carried on Vietjet's services.
Currently, all three airlines (Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar and Vietjet Air) have airport shuttle service transferring passengers from / to the airport with fee only 40,000 VND/ turn.
Vietnam Airlines:
The buses pick up passengers at no 1 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District; drop passengers off at the domestic terminal gate and vice versa.
The average frequency is 30 - 45 minutes/ bus trip, and from 5:00 AM to 22:00 PM.
Vietjet Air:
- From the center of Hanoi to Noi Bai airport:
Pick-up points: no 67-69 Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District and no 655 Pham Van Dong Street, Bac tu Liem District.
Drop-off point: The domestic terminal gate.
- From Noi Bai airport to the centre of Hanoi:
Pick-up point: The domestic terminal gate.
Drop-off points: no 67-69 Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District and no 90, Yen Phu Street, Tay Ho District.
The average frequency is 30 - 45 minutes/ bus trip.
Jetstar:
The buses pick up passengers at Ngoc Khanh parking, no 29 Lieu Giai Street, Ba Dinh District (old location is 206 Tran Quang Khai Street, Hoan Kiem District); drop passengers off at the domestic terminal gate and vice versa.
The average frequency is 30 - 45 minutes/ bus trip, and from 4:00 AM to 19:00 PM.

Babies aged under 2 years old are offered 10kg baggage allowance and have no hand baggage.
In case you miss your flight, you should immediately go to standby counter and ask the staff whether the next flight is available or not. If available, you can change into new ticket (of course, you must pay for ticket change fee and price difference). But it's necessary to note that if your old ticket is low cost ticket, please buy new ticket.
In case of running out of ticket, unfortunately you have to book a flight taking off on another day. Therefore, once ticket booked, you should arrange to come to the airport on time.
You can book, purchase ticket through agent minimum 4 hours prior to departure time. If later, you have to buy directly the ticket at standby counter (in case the flight is available).
The airlines offer service for passenger traveling with pet including dog, cat and bird on the same flight. Your pet will be delivered as baggage allowance. Other animals can only be transported as cargo.
It is required to make service request at least 36 hours before departure time.
Document require:
Passenger contact the appropriate quarantine office, embassy or consulate… to confirm all necessary documents such as import/ export permit, quarantine certificates, health certificates, rabies immunization reports and other permits regulated by country of departure, transit or destination.
Passenger requiring pet service must accept every risks on injury, disease or death during transportation.
Note: Low cost airlines such as Jetstar, Vietjet, Airasia, Tiger Airways,... don't provide pet service on their flights.
Before boarding the plane, you need to be present at check-in counter together with below papers:
- Air ticket: paper ticket or e-ticket having your booking code received via email or phone message. In this case, you just need to read this booking code to staff at check-in counter.
- Identity Card: applies for domestic flight and for passenger from the age of fourteen years old.
- Passport: This is indispensable document for international flight. In case of traveling to countries being free for visa, you only need to provide ordinary passport. Those countries are usually in South East Asia. Almost remaining countries require the visa. The visa is issued at the embassy of destination country having the representative office in Vietnam.
Besides, if your flight transits at the airport of an intermediate country, you may also need transit visa. For example, you fly from Ho Chi Minh city to Amsterdam - Netherland, you need to transit at Heathrow airport, England, then from England to Netherland. In this case, you obviously need a visa to Netherland and also a transit visa at England. However, don't worry about this because this regulation only exists in several countries.
If you have more than 2 visas, the visa used to check-in must be that you used for booking air ticket.
Note: In case Identity Card loss, Certifying Personal Identification Form by local police or authorities is required. Above certifying form must be attached with stamped portrait picture and shall be valid within 30 days since the date of confirmation.

Air ticket price for children is lower than that for adults and regulated at each airline as below:
Vietnam Airlines:

- Children from 2 to under 12 years old: 100% of adult price.
VietjetAir:
- Infant under 2 years old: free

Right after finding any mistakes on your air ticket, you have to contact immediately with Flynow Call Centre 1900 6432 to be guided and supported.
In fact, it's quite difficult to deal with those mistakes, especially in peak time. Therefore, please check carefully every information while buying the air ticket.
